A Doula’s Recipe for Sleepy Time Tea

The beauty of this tea is the ingredients are effective enough for an adult, yet gentle enough for a child. Taken around bed time it will not make you drowsy, but rather will help relax you enough to allow for deep restorative sleep. If you are breastfeeding this tea will provide safe levels of relaxation through your milk to your little one.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Linden
  • 1 tbsp Passionflower
  • 1 tbsp Skullcap
  • 1 tsp Holy Basil or Tulsi
  • 1 tsp Lemon Balm
  • 1 tsp Lavender

Method

  1. Combine the herbs into a bowl and store in an airtight glass jar.
  2. To serve, add 2 tsp of herb to your tea ball or muslin reusable tea bag, and pour 2 cups of boiling water on top.
  3. Let steep for 15-20 minutes.
